Evans GP has wrapped up the 2025 FIA Formula 4 South East Asia Championship with a dominant season that delivered a clean sweep of titles and cemented the team’s reputation as a powerhouse in regional junior single-seater racing. The final round at Sepang International Circuit concluded a year in which the team claimed the Drivers’, Masters’ and Teams’ Championships, alongside an array of standout achievements.

Across 14 races, Evans GP drivers amassed 11 wins, 11 fastest laps, 8 of 10 pole positions, and 24 podiums. Six different Evans GP drivers reached the podium over the course of the year, showcasing both the strength of the team’s programme and the depth of its driver line-up.

The crowning moment came as Alex Sawer secured his maiden F4 title, making history as the first Vietnamese driver to win an FIA-sanctioned championship. His campaign combined speed and composure, with consistent performances across the calendar marking a breakthrough moment for both his career and Vietnamese motorsport.

Alongside him, Australian youngster Seth Gilmore finished second overall in the standings. Gilmore celebrated his first career win on the streets of Bangsaen and added another victory in Sepang, underlining his development and confirming Evans GP’s ability to nurture and progress emerging talent.

In the Masters category, long-time Evans GP driver Thomas Yu Lee delivered steady results to clinch the Masters’ Championship crown. His improvement throughout the season was highlighted by competitive pace in the final races, where he ran lap times ran within a second of the front-runners.

The only non-Evans GP driver to take victory in 2025 was Niccolò Maccagnani, a Ferrari Driver Academy member who has also been the dominant performer in Italian F4 testing. He joined the South East Asia series for the final two rounds, raising the level of competition and providing a strong benchmark. One of the highlights of the year came in Round 4, when Alex Sawer and Seth Gilmore each secured race wins, before Maccagnani underlined his quality with a victory in the final event at Sepang.

Evans GP also opened its doors to new drivers during the season. Kyuho Lee joined for the penultimate round at Sepang, where he immediately impressed by scoring his first F4 podiums. At the season finale, Singaporean driver Rafael Vaessen made his racing car debut. Vaessen showed rapid progress throughout the event, breaking into the top five and claiming a rookie podium in his first outing.

Team Principal Joshua Evans praised the collective effort, saying: “This season has been a true team achievement. Winning three championships alongside such a dominant record of race wins, poles and fastest laps is the result of hard work from everyone – drivers, mechanics, engineers and staff. Alex’s historic title for Vietnam, Seth’s breakthrough victories, Thomas’ Masters’ crown and the progress of our newer drivers all demonstrate the strength of our programme. We couldn’t be prouder.”

With the F4 South East Asia campaign concluded, Evans GP now turns its focus to upcoming challenges, including the Macau Grand Prix Formula Regional World Cup, the Formula 4 Trophy Series in the UAE this November and December, and the 2026 Formula 4 Middle East Championship.
